Виниловая пластинка Ollie Nightingale - Sweet Surrender [New Vinyl LP] Ltd Ed, Reissue

Genre: Soul/R & B

Release Year: 2023

One of southern soul's finest records! The solo debut from Ollie Nightingale, Sweet Surrender, originally released in 1973, is finally getting a long-deserved analog reissue! Best known as the lead singer of Ollie and The Nightingale, Ollie Nightingale's solo debut, Sweet Surrender (1973) is absolutely filled to the brim with down-home soul. With production duties handled by the legendary Gene "Bowlegs" Miller (whose work with Otis Redding and Etta James made him one of soul's most in-demand producers), and additional string arrangements by Willie Mitchell's younger brother, saxophonist James Mitchell, there's no doubt that this album will sound familiar to any fans of southern soul! Comparisons to O.V. Wright are frequent, but Ollie's unique, high-pitched voice pulls at the heart strings, and any of his fantastic ballads are sure to bring a tear to your eye. From textbook soul ballads such as "I'm In Love" to bluesy gospel numbers such as "Standing On A Promise", there's sure to be something for everyone on Sweet Surrender! Reissued on vinyl for the first time ever, and with an obi-strip, P-VINE is proud to present Ollie Nightingale's Sweet Surrender.
