Solid Sitka Spruce Top and Scalloped X-Bracing for Powerful Acoustic Projection

The California Deluxe Redondo CE is built around a solid Sitka spruce top reinforced by scalloped X-bracing, a proven combination that delivers exceptional volume, projection and responsiveness. The solid top reacts dynamically to a player’s touch, producing clear note definition and impressive headroom whether you’re strumming aggressively or playing with a lighter touch. Laminated mahogany back and sides add warmth and tonal balance, complementing the spruce top’s natural articulation while helping maintain a full, rounded voice. Combined with the Redondo CE’s cutaway dreadnought body shape, the result is a confident, full-bodied acoustic sound that never comes at the expense of playability.

Slim C Mahogany Neck for Smooth, Comfortable Playability

The California Deluxe Redondo CE’s mahogany neck is carved to a slim C profile that feels immediately comfortable in the hands. Its 25.5" scale length provides familiar string tension and strong note definition, while the walnut fingerboard offers a smooth, natural playing surface. A 1.6875" nut width strikes a comfortable balance between spacing and playability, making the guitar equally suited for chord work, fingerstyle playing and melodic passages. Combined with a satin urethane finish and dual-action truss rod, the neck is designed to deliver dependable performance and long-term comfort.

Fishman CD-1 Electronics for Natural Amplified Acoustic Tone

When plugged in, the Fishman CD-1 preamp system faithfully captures the Redondo’s natural acoustic character for live performance, recording and practice. Dedicated volume, bass and treble controls make it easy to tailor the sound to different environments, while an onboard tuner and phase control add useful stage-ready functionality. Designed to preserve the guitar’s balance, clarity and dynamic response, the system delivers a natural amplified voice that remains true to the instrument’s acoustic personality.

Distinctive Fender Styling and Reliable Performance Hardware

The California Deluxe Redondo CE stands apart from more traditional acoustics with a collection of design elements inspired by Fender’s electric guitar heritage. Most recognizable is the signature 6-in-line headstock, a defining feature that immediately connects the guitar to Fender’s iconic designs. Sealed die-cast tuning machines with split shafts provide smooth, precise tuning adjustments, while the Micarta nut and saddle and Modern Viking bridge support reliable performance and efficient string transfer. A pearloid rosette, tortoiseshell pickguard and chrome hardware complete a design that embraces Fender’s unmistakable approach to acoustic guitar craftsmanship.

The Fender California Deluxe Redondo CE acoustic-electric guitar combines the powerful voice of a cutaway dreadnought with the bold styling and player-friendly feel that define the California Series.
