Live at The Basement captures a rare and electrifying performance by Jon Lord, legendary keyboardist of Deep Purple, alongside Australian blues outfit The Hoochie Coochie Men and special guest Jimmy Barnes. Recorded in Sydney in 2003, the concert is a celebration of classic blues, soul, and rock, delivered with raw energy and masterful musicianship. Jon Lord's Hammond organ anchors the set with rich textures and expressive solos, while Barnes brings his unmistakable vocal fire to several standout moments. The ensemble-featuring Tim Gaze, Bob Daisley, Rob Grosser, Jim Conway, and others-delivers tight, soulful arrangements that pay homage to the roots of rock with authenticity and flair. The setlist spans traditional blues standards and original material, all performed with passion and spontaneity. The chemistry on stage is palpable, blending British rock heritage with Australian blues grit. This release offers a front-row experience of a unique collaboration, showcasing Lord's versatility beyond the hard rock realm. Ideal for fans of Deep Purple, classic blues, and live performance collectors, Live at The Basement is a vibrant document of musical camaraderie and timeless groove.
