The Ibanez Steve Di Giorgio bass is the signature instrument of Death and Testament bassist, Steve Di Giorgio. Known as one of the most proficient and prolific bass players in extreme music, Steve Di Giorgio’s range extends from heavy thrash-death metal to the technical side of fusion and the fluid, funky field of jazz. Steve has also established himself as an in-demand studio musician, as his technical and recognizable bass skills have been carved into over 50 albums in his 30 plus year career. When looking for a reliable bass that could adapt to any gig, Steve has trusted his Ibanez BTB models to do the job. So naturally, when designing a new signature model, Steve leaned heavily on many of the key BTB features as the framework for this bass. The final result is the combination of Ibanez’s modern innovations and Steve’s decades of experience—the SDGB. A 9-piece maple/bubinga/Panga Panga neck provides superior note attack, tight lows and increased sustain, while graphite reinforcement rods provide massive sustain and excellent stability. This is paired with an ebernol fretboard, an ash/okoume body and a flamed maple top. The flamed maple top displays a beautiful wood grain and the Ash/Okoume wing body delivers a pleasant brightness and rich sustain. Nordstrand ”Big Single” cram a meaty single coil into a soapbar-style pickup, producing a full-bodied, powerful, aggressive tonal texture, while still retaining the clarity that's characteristic of single coil pickups. Vari-mid 3-band EQ features a variable mid-frequency control which allows you to dial in an incredibly wide range of sounds.
